Bachelor of Arts (B.A. or A.B.), from the Latin artium baccalaureus, is a bachelor's degree awarded for an undergraduate course or programme in either the liberal arts, the sciences or both. A Bachelor of Arts degree programme generally lasts three years in nearly all of the European Union countries as well as in Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, India, Iraq, Israel, New Zealand, Iceland, Norway, the Canadian province of Quebec, Singapore, the Caribbean, South Africa and Switzerland, whereas it usually lasts four years in Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Canada (outside Quebec), Brazil and Latin America, Japan, Pakistan, Scotland, the Russian Federation, Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt and the United States. Diplomas generally give the name of the institution, signatures of officials of the institution (generally the president or rector of the university as well as the secretary or dean of the component college), the type of degree conferred, the conferring authority and the location at which the degree is conferred. Degree diplomas generally are printed on high quality paper or parchment, use ornate lettering and often include archaic terminology or languages. Individual institutions set the preferred abbreviation for their degrees. From Wikipedia under the

Q. I currently am in my second year obtaining my BAHS in psychology. I live on a farm with horses. I originally wanted to be a teacher but now I don't know. I was wondering if anyone knew of any professions where I could combine my passion and education. Ps I suck at biology. Asked by farmchickemily - Thu Mar 26 12:26:06 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think that the perfect profession for you would be one involving horse therapy. Research it-it is great. Various animals are used besides horses-dolphins are another popular one. With your prior goal of teaching, the education you have in psychology and your passion for horses I think you would be the perfect candidate for this field. I would suggest taking a few courses about Special Needs students, and perhaps a couple of courses about animal psychology as well. Your best education would probably come from volunteering somewhere that offers this program already! Answered by BraxOwl - Thu Mar 26 14:26:46 2009 Foundation Degree or Bachelor of Arts Degree?
Q. What's the difference and which one is better? I am currently stuck as to whether to go to do a Foundation Degree and then get a BA Hons Top Up Degree after or go onto a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Asked by dothejitt3rbug - Thu Aug 14 06:55:24 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. A foundation degree often comes before a Bachelors Degree. It is for people that want to go into art/design subjects or did not do the relevant subjects in college or get the right grades. It all depends on what subject you want to do. A lot of art and design colleges/unis do not accept students that have not done a foundation degree in art. It is better to do a Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) and do the foundation degree before hand if you need to. You can always email universities and ask them what they require.
