From Google News Search: "Amherst College" Is Vanderbilt University better than Amherst College? Q. Excluding social life and quality of facilites/campus, which school has the better academics? Asked by Cristina - Sat Apr 11 11:38:50 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. I would say Amherst, because it's been consistently ranked FIRST in liberal arts colleges. Also as a college, you'd have more one-on-one time and attention with professors, and it seems to be a much more close-knit community. You said to exclude social life from the academic experience, but I think they are both integrated into each other. Learning in an environment where you are most comfortable (whether that's a large university or a small college) will contribute tons to your learning experience. hope this helps Answered by swuvvy - Sat Apr 11 12:45:38 2009 which should I apply early to: Brown, Tufts, Dartmouth, or Amherst College. Q. do William college, Amherst college, Middlebury college, MIT, Dartmouth college have coats of arm? Asked by TUAN N1 - Wed Dec 31 17:58:52 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Of these colleges only Dartmouth has a coat of arms within a seal. Dartmouth Arms: An outline: issuant from dexter chief a ray of light bendwise charged with an open book; upon a grassy and flowered mound above two barrulets wavy and the number 1769, in dexter a pine grove whence proceed two Natives walking to sinister, the sinister native holding an open book, and in sinister Dartmouth Hall issuant from sinister in front of deciduous trees. Many USA colleges do have coats of arms and they are listed on the US Heraldic website below. Almost all UK colleges have arms and a seal.
